Kansas House Committee Takes Up Union Bargaining Bill

A Kansas House committee heard from supporters and opponents of a bill Wednesday that limits teacher's bargaining rights. The legislation would cut the items school districts are required to negotiate with unions from more than two dozen to five.

Kan. House Panel Taking Up Anti-Abortion Bill

The House Federal and State Affairs Committee is getting ready to debate some sweeping anti-abortion legislation Thursday.

The bill tries to ensure the state doesn't subsidize abortions, even indirectly, through tax exemptions or credits. It would also strengthen a law designed to prevent medical residents from performing abortions on state property.

The bill has the strong support of abortion opponents. Abortion-rights supporters consider it the most serious threat to access to the procedure being considered this year

Senior Services To Hold 31st Annual Job Fair

The annual Senior Employment Job Fair will be held on March 19 in Wichita.
