Carolina is the sixth album from Spain, the musical project of Josh Haden. The album examines American life by combining elements of the personal and historical. We’ll hear selections from that release on this episode of the show along with music from Haden’s sister, Petra, and her recently reissued solo debut album Imaginaryland.
Tuesday, July 19
Loud Hailer is the latest release from guitarist Jeff Beck. The album touches on modern life with a series of songs such as “O.I.L.,” “Live in the Dark” and “Scared for the Children.” We’ll hear selections from that release as well as songs from Scambot 2 the new release from San Diego-based musician Mike Keneally.

Thursday, July 21
Released in 1982, Nebraska is an anomaly in Bruce Springsteen’s early career. The album features Springsteen alone with an acoustic guitar and harmonica with no back from the E Street Band. Recorded mostly at his home in rural New Jersey the record features a haunting, spare sound that enhances the spirit of the songs which are mostly meditations on the working class during a time of economic changes in the country. We’ll hear selections from that release as well as music from Rehab Reunion, the latest by Bruce Hornsby and The Noisemakers.
