Wesley Medical Center announced today plans for a $28 million renovation of its current pediatric facilities, which will form a dedicated children’s hospital. KMUW’s Sean Sandefur has more…
With the help of a few children, officials at Wesley Medical Center at Hillside and Central unveiled plans for a new children’s hospital. The project will include an updated pediatric intensive care unit, and Wesley hopes to add more specialist services, like respiratory illness, while enhancing their current network of specialists. Tripp Owings is Vice President of Pediatric Operations and Business Development for Wesley.
“The more we can bolster our services that we offer, the more families can stay in their own environment, in their own homes, lower their travel expense, lower having to stay at a hotel and try to have their kids recover in an unfamiliar environment,” Owings says.
Wesley Medical Center hopes to break ground this summer and expects construction to take about 18 months.
