Thanksgiving is coming up fast, and with that, the biggest shopping season of the year. This is typically when all the biggest games are released.

The Xbox One has a few big exclusives this holiday. Halo 5, which I talked about a few weeks ago, and the sequel to 2013’s fantastic reboot of the Tomb Raider series. The new game, Rise of the Tomb Raider, is a cinematic adventure with a story that should be at turns tragic and uplifting, but with the tight, responsive gameplay the series is known for.

The holiday season is always big for entertainment. Lots of big movies come out, and video games, too.

The new entry in the Call of Duty series, Advanced Warfare, came out earlier this month. The series is best known for its multiplayer, but I really enjoyed the single player campaign. The story wasn’t overly complex, but it was compelling, not unlike a big Hollywood action movie. The appearance of Kevin Spacey as a villain in the vein of his character in "House of Cards" was a pleasant surprise.

A few months ago, I spoke about the upcoming PlayStation 4 console. I think there is a law about giving equal time to all sides, so this week I’m going to talk about the Xbox One, Microsoft's new console. It was unveiled Tuesday.

While the PlayStation 4’s focus is on games and the way we play them with our friends, Microsoft’s new console is firmly rooted in the living room and bills itself as the hub for all of your living room entertainment.
