WRRS provides local and national programming twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week through the Audio Reader service from the University of Kansas.
The service offers readings of daily and weekly newspapers, magazines and books, as well as news, interviews and other programs dealing with disability and aging issues.
WRRS is available to any person who due to a physical, vision or cognitive handicap is no longer able to read 14-point type with ease. Area residents may apply for a receiver, which is preset to the special subcarrier signal.
Upon receipt of a completed application, WRRS will loan this receiver free of charge.
